Dr. Chuck Crispen grew up in a New Jersey suburb of New York City and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1971. Before entering osteopathic school, Chuck was involved in orthopedic research.He received a degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1978. Chuck received his specialty training in pediatrics at Raymond Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He spent four years in rural medicine with the National Health Service Corps. He has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon, as well as the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Crispen was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1987. Chuck enjoys spending free time hiking and camping. He enjoys playing basketball, birdwatching, and is an avid reader and occasional poet. Chuck believes that the fate of our planet is of key importance to our children and their health. He is proud to have been an active part of Physicians for Social Responsibility when they won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985. Chuck has four children and has lived in Grants Pass since 1992.
